FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PRLog (Press Release) - Aug. 17, 2013 - BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- The Mission in Motion Women’s Cycling team is proud to be participating in both the running and cycling races at the Chris Thater Memorial Races for their tenth consecutive year! Last year 10 members participated in the criterium bicycle races, and 6 women participated in the 5K running race. This year Mission in Motion will be out in force once again to compete in our area’s premier bicycle and running racing events. Mission in Motion was founded in 2004 by women who were competing for different clubs and teams prior to organizing the first Central New York 501c3 women's race team. The decision to unite came from the desire to race for a cause, promoting women's health and breast cancer awareness. Mission in Motion competes in all aspects of cycling, running and triathlon races throughout the year. All proceeds earned (through race prizes and through fund raisers such as the Mission in Motion Coffee & Bake Sale Tent at Chris Thater Memorial Races) are donated in full to the Lourdes mobile mammography unit at Lourdes hospital providing health care to underserved areas of the Southern Tier. To date, we have donated $13,300 to Lourdes Mission in Motion foundation.
